The Audiobooks are great. I read through books 1-3, but once I got a job it became difficult to find time to actually sit down and read a few chapters. So the audiobooks are great, I listen to them as a drive to work and back. It actually makes me glad when I hit traffic, because I have more time to listen. 3.
We know incest is a fairly common thing in the Game of Thrones universe, but same as real life, it comes with bad side effects in the children the more closely related you are. Madness especially is a common side effect in children of incest in the show (The mad king had incest genes) and oh boy is Joffrey one rotten little shit, likely as a
This is the r/gameofthrones discussion thread for: Season 3, Episode 10 "Mhysa" Book vs. Show. Like the Episode Premiere and Next Episode Predictions, we have a third "official thread" type this season for book vs. show discussion.
• Game of Thrones Ruined Me! So I know I’m late but I just watched all 8 seasons of GOT in a little less than a month…I don’t say this lightly..GOT fucked tv shows up for me. Obviously seasons 7/8 weren’t the best but the show…it’s the best ever.
Game of Thrones T.V. Show vs. Book? Hey guys, I'm a big fan of the GoT TV show, and I'm thinking of reading the books too. My concern is whether or not they follow the same story line - I don't want to spoil the TV show because I read the books. Is there much risk in reading the books?
I’ll just hit some of the big points because listing all the differences is border-line impossible. •Jon is a way better character in the books. He’s smarter, more ruthless, and more pragmatic than his show counterpart (particularly in the last couple of seasons). He’s basically Ned 2.0 in the best way possible.
pOd7joJ. We're not talking about the books here, no relation. You didn't understand anything at the end of the TV Show, you just proved it. I just expressed my opinion, I did not insult, unlike you. You refuse to be a civilized human, so go back to crying your salt over the ending of Game Of Throne, which you didn't understand. Never mind, that's your
So one thing I noticed is that they made Alicent much more sympathetic in the show compared to the books and it seems obvious that this was in fact a goal of the showrunners. I do believe this is a good thing since you want sympathetic characters on both sides. However, I also think the show runners went about it in really the wrong way.
Joffrey reads Sansa's distress and desire to return as an opportunity to play gallant. The ruby ford is the site where his father famously won his throne. Joffrey, tipsy, is eager to "play knights" and defend the damsel in distress. All they need is a villain. Joffrey draws his sword, live steel he never gets to use.
The both show had a lot of fans. The both show were rated very high while the shows were going on. But, Breaking Bad objectively had a better ending/final season than Game of thrones. It was getting better and better when season was going on when it comes to Breaking Bad.
The show lets us see things we can't in the books due to the nature of TV, where you can follow most everyone, vs. The books where you're bound to perspective characters. But the books let us see through the eyes of characters, rather than just outside looking in, which can feel more visceral and give you a deeper understanding of the characters.

His show arc culminates with his coronation as Hand to a third monarch, a feat that could be repeated in the final installment of A Song of Ice and Fire.
