Unplug the cable that goes into the heater blower itself, look and see if there is any melting or deformity. Try with the blower on and wiggle this, it's a common fault. My Grande Punto's LCD is dying a slow death. The pixels are melting from the center and currently only the Trip A/B, top line stats are visible.
